800 students, about 200 in English International section and about 60 in Italian International Section; we do various activities for these International Sections/ MUN , Speech Contests..but also for other Language students: Spanish, English or Italian LV1 and soon Chinese learners, we organize Language week, with language and culture quizzes and Spelling bee contests.
I am a French native but lived in the USA for 20 years, so am fluent in English and about B2 level in Spanish oral comprehension and expression. Even though I studied Latin and German for 7 years (each) I feel like a beginner in these 2 languages. I would love to have the time to learn a new language like Portuguese.
I sense there is a need to integrate migrants in our language classes, even though we don't have a lot of migrants at our school yet...
I found out about multilingual activities at the EOL conference I attended MAY 17-18 and am interested in experimenting with my students because I feel that hearing a different language might help students to focus and listen to each other.
I taught FLE to students from different social and ethnic backgrounds for 20 years in the USA and now I teach English literature and language to Middle School International Section students. I am also a singer and yoga teacher and actually did yoga in English with my 7th graders during Language week last April.
I don't have a project yet...Except maybe a pluringual song on RESPECT...I would like to do work interviews with my students and another language teacher....Or maybe work on a multilingual project with one of my history geography teaching colleague, who is interested ...But what exactly could we do with our 6e students next year? She speaks some Italian and Russian.
