About the school

Our school is a big school complex which inludes: Primary School nr 19, Junior High School nr 10 and Secondary School (High School nr 4). The full name of our school complex is :Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących nr 1 w Tarnowie (General Education School Complex nr 1 in Tarnów). There are about 1000 students aged from 7 to 19 years old. Language skills

We try to get students interested in foreig languages and cultures. Secondary school students learn 2 foreign languages, one of them in an extended numbers of hours per week (3,5 or 7) and the other 2 or 3 hours a week. Students can choose languages they want to study and the choice is : English (the most popular with students), German, French, Italian and Spanish. In the last five years the level of teaching languages has risen and it is due to the constant development of a languange friendly

Motivation

We are highly motivated in joining the project. We want to create even more language fiendly environment in our school and create new international contacts. We want to learn from others, practice our language skills as well as rise the standards of teaching and larning. We also want others to learn from us and our expriences.

Strength and experience

As a big complex school we are a perfect match to other, foreign schools beig our partners. The level of teaching in our school is very high, we are a prestigious, school and environment. The reputation of our school is very good. We focus on the individual, the tradition is very important value in our environment.

Project related to EOL

Our school has been a partner for other European schools for more than 20 years. We take part in echange students programmes with school from Germany and Slovakia. Every year the exchange programmes are very popular among students and teachers.

Needs and wishes

1. We want to be officially recognized as a partner school. 2. We want our students to get as much involved in the project as they can, they need to be (if it is possible) in a constant contact with other fireig students. 3. As for now that is it:)
